Maja fell in love with Rijeka at first sight back in 2005: no wonder she chose to leave her native fairy-tale green Zagorje for a new coastal fairy tale.

Before joining the RIJEKA 2020 team, she graduated in cultural management, worked in the Kumrovec municipal administration and tourist board, as well as the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund. After honing her administrative skills, she gained experience on EU projects from the perspective of a control body by controlling procurement procedures for projects financed by the EU.

Most of the time she is organising the “27 neighbourhoods” programme, but she manages to find spare time to draw and paint.
