About - Sophie Olivia Taleja Schmidt

Sophie Olivia Taleja Schmidt (*1995 Berlin) studied textile and surface design at the Art School Berlin-Weißensee and the Stieglitz Academy for Art and Design in St. Petersburg. She is currently completing the Art & Science Master's programme at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

Her work ranges from textile arts and surface structures to painting and sculpture. She deals with themes such as hand gestures and behavioural structures of the human body, optical and physical processes of perception, the reciprocal shaping of body and material, and the in-between.
