Meat the action! Arena

The module “Meat the Action! Arena” took place at the BIOSPHERE n+1 event on the 23rd of June. The main idea was to recreate (model) a hypothetical discussion among several stakeholders about replacing
50% of the meat consumption in Vienna. Predefined roles were assigned to participants, and a discussion was stimulated among them. This discussion was analysed with various scientific, artistic and mixed methods. The main focus here was on group dynamics, different forms of knowledge and a comparison between modelled and real world, as well as on human-nature, relationships. On the table, on the pin-boards and on the artistic board you find the results of this process. The latter served to display group dynamics and communication structures. Different artistic methods were used, following the discussion process in real time. Nails represent the stakeholders and a string indicates how the discussion went with regard to frequency of speech and direct interaction with other participants.
