In Search of a Centre, a Study on Symmetry
This project is based on a theory that combines some of my main interests; Geometry, Philosophy, and Science. Plato in his
third period (366–348 B.c.) through “Timeus” gives a complete scientific explanation of the structure of the ancient world.
Five geometrically defined solids correspond to five fundamental elements. These elements, along with their by-products (outcomes
of mixings and divisions among them) compose all nature. This theory is outdated according to latest scientific developments
but still fascinates. The “old” perspective of micro world functions as well as the transcendent thoughts, basic “tools” of
every innovation, established this work as “classic”. Amazed by the geometry of these solids, I tried to understand in depth
their symbolism.
