About - Esther Moñivas
Esther Moñivas Mayor is an art historian, conservator-restorer of contemporary art and curator. She is adjunct professor of
contemporary art at Nebrija University and conducts research at the Spanish National Research Council’s Institute of Philosophy
(CCHS-CSIC) and at the GNAPV group in Nebrija University. She received grants for postgrduate studies from the ICO Foundation
and the Fundación Especial Caja Madrid. In 2014 she is guest postdoctoral researcher at the University of Applied Arts
Vienna, and collaborates with the Liquid Things project. Her research explores the concept of matter in contemporary art;
material semantics; the aesthetics of fluid materials (particularly water); and the current processes of convergence between
art and science.
In the field of the art and science exhibitions, she curated “h2o: emergencias” in the Complutense University of Madrid (2013), and cocurated with Victoria Vesna "The 4th State of Water. From Micro to Macro" in CoCA Torun (2012).
