About - Martin Reinhart
Senior Lecturer
Martin Reinhart, MA (*1967 Vienna) has studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Bernhard Leitner. He is a filmmaker, media historian and inventor. In the last years he developed a system to auto-correlate big sets of data together with physicist Leonard Coster. The goal of this work is to generate an objective topography of world knowledge. Back in the 2000s his company Indiecam pioneered digital moviemaking and their cameras have been used in mayor Hollywood productions. Together with Thomas Tode and Manu Luksch Martin made the 2015 documentary „Dreams Rewired“ that traces the desires and anxieties of today’s hyper-connected world back more than a hundred years, when telephone, film and television were new.
Martin was the principal investigator of the PEEK project “Data Loam” (2017-2019) and will shortly launch a new artistic research project called “Radical Matter” together with the Royal College of Art, London.
