Exotic habitats

The work attempts to emphasize the theatrical component of public wildlife displays. As a starting point, it takes the 16th and 17th century cabinets of curiosities, and analyses them in a contemporary context, focusing on the fantastic and awe-triggering aspect of such displays. Various displays of exotic animals and their museum habitats were photographed in a way which would minimize the amount of architectural and constructional elements of the featured displays, but would instead try to come as close as possible to the natural state of a particular environment.
