The new film works on different levels. The montage and the recitative part are overlapping themselves and extend the unlimited
idea of sweetness and art. The comments can be understood as a contraction to the illustration. The majority of images were
produced in a bakery in the suburbs of Paris.
Title:
The title „Grillage Underground“ is composed of two words like fraternal twins, which reflect each other phoneticly and visibly
like in a mirror or as a degenerated palindrome.
Synopsis:
Two people dressed in white arrive in a bakery 10 km away from Paris. They came to sprinkle sugar on top of the croissants
and observe closely but without visible reason the production of the baguettes. The sound is a long monologue that is interrupted
by poses. The text was written for the special occasion of this film. The story is about a reflexion of a contemporary and
revolutionary discourse, which can be found in artobjects that are exhibited in galleries.
Concept:
The plot of the film (supported by the images and also by the text) works around the themes of sugar as well as around chemistry and geometry. Secondary the topics of observation and control are being dealed with in the production of baguettes and the camouflage of the croissants. The question of reality does not arise.
