2015, Rauminstallation
An expedition is a special kind of journey. It may lead into unknown territories and tries to uncover hidden land. At the
same time it holds considerable, and potentially difficult to assess, risks. Physical boundaries are not the only ones that
need to be crossed to broaden one’s mind.
What happens if the main focus is not the destination itself, but the concept of an expedition in general? Which instruments, methods and motivations may be applied? Under what flag does one sail?
Martin Grödl and Moritz Resl explore the visual language of heraldic symbolism by adapting the flag as a motif and contemporary
medium.
