Feminist concerns in Art & Science

We meet remotely on International Women’s Day 2021 to discuss a range of feminist issues within the discipline of Art and Science. The evening will consist of short talks addressing historical exclusions and inclusions of women in mainstream artistic/scientific narratives as well as gendered framings of nature and science within written and visual culture.

 

These will be presented by alumnus Monica C. LoCascio, current students Helen Emily Davy and Els van Houtert, and invited artist Martha Gray. Each talk will be followed by time for group discussion and reflection. The evening will conclude with a poetry reading by current student Malashree Suvedi.
