Entry requirements
To study Art & Science, you will find all information here: https://www.dieangewandte.at/programmes and need to pass the entrance exam. Candidates should show a special interest in transdisciplinary projects and the ability
to deal with techniques that experiment with different methods and media. The two-year programme is held in English so candidates
should also be comfortable in conversing and writing in this language (no language certificate is necessary).

It is recommended to join this meeting to find out more about the Art&Science Master's program, the application process and other details. Application Procedure in 2027
The entrance exam consists of three phases. Each phase requires a positive assessment to move on to the next step.Phase 1
7–21 January 2027 – 13:00 CET (tbc) – online registration & portfolio submission period

Upload preferably as ONE Pdf-document:
2. Letter of motivation – stating your interest in art and science as well as in the approach of the course (What do I expect from the course? Why do I want to study this? What is my professional vision for the future?)
3. Curriculum vitae – including contact information (telephone, email)
4. Digital portfolio – with your artistic and/or scientific works; if your portfolio is not in German/English, please translate the abstract only. Please use this format: PDF, max. 50 MB OR include link to shared drive/website in your motivation letter; name file: FirstName_LastName_Portfolio
UNTIL 4 February: notification by email from the Art & Science department
Positive assessment of the first phase is a requirement for the second phase. (Any other communication you may have with other departments of the Angewandte such as student office regarding visas etc. does not imply that you have already passed the first phase).
Phase 2
22+23 February 2027 – Written and practical tasks
online via zoom (links will follow)10:00 CET tasks distribution; 16:00 CET of the same day: deadline task submission per email
The second phase lasts two days and consists of two conceptual/creative tasks in the fields of art and science to be completed in English. Nothing is to be prepared in advance.
25 February, at the latest: notification by email by the Art & Science department
Positive assessment of the second phase is a requirement for the third phase, the interview.
Phase 3
26 February 2027 – Interview
online via zoom (link and times will follow)a.m. CET, single appointments
In the third phase, your aptitude for the programme is reviewed in an interview with the team.
Within the next two weeks: Notification of the final results by email by the Art & Science department.
Positive assessment of all three phases is a requirement to pass the entrance exam.

Start of studies: October 2027
