Verna Tähtinen (b. 1994) is an artist studying and working in Helsinki, Finland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Aalto University and is doing her exchange studies in the Art & Science programme at Angewandte in the winter semester 23/24. Tähtinen has a minor in Sculpture and is currently deepening her new materialist sculpting practice while experimenting with metal, wood and other cellulose-based materials. Tähtinen is particularly interested in the circulation of matter, the agency of seemingly passive matter, as well as interspecies relationships. Besides studies, she is a passionate urban cyclist, a film enthusiast and enjoys going to gigs.
