About - Christoph Winckler
Christoph Winckler is professor of Livestock Ecology at the Division of Livestock Sciences and head of the Department of Sustainable
Agricultural Systems of BOKU, Vienna.
He graduated from both Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Justus-Liebig-University Gießen, Germany. After completing his PhD in Veterinary Physiology he joined the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Georg-August-Univerity Göttingen, Germany. In 2003, C. Winckler was appointed as professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU).
His main research interests lie in the assessment and improvement of farm animal welfare.
