A Quick Fix for your Efficiency Deficiency

When thinking about what brings order into our every-day (western) lives, caffeine surely plays a huge role in the process of optimization and increasing productivity. The act of making a coffee in the morning or drinking a cup after lunch at work structures our capitalistic way of living (i.e. working). We trick ourselves into thinking we have enough energy to tackle the day although we are most likely sleep deprived and know that coffee on an empty stomach is not the healthiest idea.
Nevertheless, thermodynamics has taught us, when there is heat, there is disorder. We extract the coffee beans from land that westerners have claimed many years ago and then we extract the caffeine with thermal energy. A very ironic process.
"A Quick Fix for your Efficiency Deficiency" offers metaphorical views on this societal habit and states the univalence of coffee as a material.

Lilian Kaufmann does a lot of things. They climb trees, drum on stage, pipette in the lab, cut down withering plants and draw comics for their friends. Having completed a biotechnology masters degree and an interrupted mathematics bachelors, they like to think about the how and what of the things that surround them.
