Die Seeräuber Jenny (Pirate Jenny)
Jenny the Buccaneer disrupts the male hegemony, symbolising a break from inequality and exploitation. Literary scholars suggest
that Bertolt Brecht appropriated her story, which should have been credited to Elisabeth Hauptmann. Pirate Jenny aims to provoke
reflection, mirroring the city of Vienna. Few places highlight marginalised individuals, evident in Vienna’s skewed street
names: less than 110 km honour women by name, as opposed to 1540 km for men. Queer representation is sparse. The video delves
into these issues, uncovering hidden narratives in alleyways, striving for greater visibility.
