The Package – What is inside?
I took the title of my project from my uncle. He said at the 30th birthday of my cousin that “when I took that little package home for the first time, I knew that from now on, everything will be different”? What is a package? Something wrapped up in paper, or in clothes; something, which is hiding something inside; something that you are waiting for; something, which is still a surprise; something that you just imagined, that is still just living in your fantasy.
You are a package: a package of bones, skin, flesh, blood, genes.
That package of blood, flesh, and genes is known by the others as being “you”.
Do you know what is really inside? Do you know how this package’s future will be? Would you like to know? Would you decide to undergo medical tests to discover how many minutes, days, years are left for this package? Would you be able to decide about the future of another package?
Would you sort out a package if it would contain some kind of chromosome disorder? Would you take home a package, which is sorted out by someone? Do you believe in the kit of tools of science? Do you think that art could help? Do you believe that owning an art piece is a privilege? The project titled “The Package” would like to speak about responsibility, ethics, beauty, belief, future, life, art and science, through the presentation of some statues of possibly living, once living, and – with the help of science – will be living creatures. ?
