Things that we do not know that we know
Mateusz Kula
2016, photography, video, installationThings That We Do Not Know That We Know is an environment made of a collection of works that deals with three notions of memory and its aspects. For example: an aquarium with living organisms, like pests and fungi, illuminated with strong light and a film that documents processes of forgetting (erosion); cultural objects impregnated with organic and inorganic plastic materials such as different kinds of tempera, resins and glues (impregnation); documentation of neurofeedback experiments on memory processes; a found footage film based on Edgar Reitz’s “Heimat” series and an audio narration spoken by witnesses of different events and catastrophes (recollection).
