Time crystals, or a four-dimensional dining room.
This piece delves into the notion of time crystals, relating a family anecdote embedded in a dining room setting. The idea
of a “dining room” expands beyond physical space and represents a multidimensional realm where memories and emotions converge.
As the author observes their world sinking and contemplates the four dimensions, she reflects on the symmetrical nature of time crystals. These time crystals continuously rearrange particles into various configurations, yet they return to the same configuration at regular intervals in time. Inés Peláez, from Mexico City, is an artist and actress. She holds a degree in Theater and acting from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) (CUT). She co-founded the theater company “Los Conjurados Teatro” and has performed with them for a decade. Inés explores the convergence of physics, astronomy, and art, which has profoundly influenced her artistic journey. Her curiosity for this interdisciplinary fusion led her to
pursue an MA in Art & Science.
