Gardening explores the relationship between memory, control, and organic growth through a series of small-scale drawings of flowers. The work references the gardening practice of the artist’s grandmother, particularly the semi-controlled processes shaping her rose garden. The drawings shift between structure and dissolution, where delicate, almost botanical forms emerge, only to fragment into gestural traces, where it is tried to reflect an attempt to grasp something inherently unstable.

Installed in front of a photograph depicting a fragment of the garden, the drawings shift from sketch to object of observation. The photographic image suggests documentation and preservation, while the drawings are being inspired and drawn from memory
