In contrast to the art of remembering things, in particular the classical ars memorativa (such as memory palaces or mnemonics), this work explores how nature can visually represent erasure in the sense of forgetting. The image plays with notions of partial framing as reference for making perception or memory possible as well as the lack or scarcity of framing that facilitates forgetting. The frame of reference permits the image to oscillate between realism and abstraction.
