2026, Feather, yarn, motorised lifting mechanism

Fallstudie shows two pigeon feathers falling to the ground simultaneously—an event that, even with a single feather, is rarely observed directly. Usually, only its traces are visible: feathers on the ground. Through a continuous loop, the movement is isolated and repeated. The feathers fall in the same way each time, shifting perception from natural to artificial, almost like a visual “glitch.”

The technical setup remains deliberately simple and visible. A rudimentary mechanism produces the effect without concealing it. This creates a tension between observation and construction: a possible event is translated into a form that cannot be experienced in this way in reality.
