The Institute of High Energy Physics (HEPHY) is Austria’s largest centre for experimental and theoretical particle physics, contributing to major international experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and Belle II at KEK in Japan. In 2025 HEPHY merged with the Stefan Meyer Institute to form the Marietta Blau Institute for Particle Physics of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
