About - Aryan Shahabian
Dr. Aryan Shahabian is a multidisciplinary architectural designer, researcher, and visual artist with expertise in architecture,
urban design, engineering, and innovation. He earned his doctorate (Dr.techn., PhD equivalent) in Engineering Sciences, Architecture
from TU Wien and holds two Master's degrees: one in Urban Strategies from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and another
in Architectural Engineering from IUST in Tehran (nationally awarded diploma project). He also completed an extended study
on innovation at TU Wien.
Aryan has experience in various fields of art and science, including analog and digital painting, drawing, music, poetry, photography, video art, sculpture, interior and stage design, graphic and UX design, conceptual art, generative and experimental design, parametric and computational design, building performance simulation, environmental life-cycle assessment, architectural design and engineering, urban studies, and interdisciplinary architectural sciences.
He has worked and collaborated with multiple firms and architects, such as Coop Himmelblau, Fluid Motion Architects, and Bahram Shirdel, and has served as a board member and head of the architecture section at Pasargad Consulting Architects & Planners. He has lectured at universities in Iran and Austria, organized and curated events, and served as a member of the editorial board and reviewer for numerous international scientific journals and conferences in architecture, engineering, urban planning, and design.
His art, design, and architectural projects have won awards and been exhibited internationally, including at events and locations such as Nippon 1994 in Japan, World Gallery of Cartoons Macedonia, Iranian Artists Forum and House of Cartoon, Niavaran Cultural Center, Azad Art Gallery, World Architecture Community Awards, Parallel Vienna, Galerie am Roten Hof, Dorotheum, Künstlerhaus Vienna, and Venice Biennale.
