AIL – Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab [Reverberated]Memory is not a stable archive of the past. Rather, it unfolds as a dynamic process in which traces are continuously reshaped by perception, narration, and material conditions.
This year’s exhibition, [REVERBERATED], explores memory through the metaphor of reverberation — the persistence and reflection of sound across surfaces, spaces, and bodies. Just as echoes continue to resonate long after their source has disappeared, memories move through environments, technologies, landscapes, and human experience in unstable and transformative ways.
Bringing together artists from diverse artistic and scientific backgrounds, the exhibition presents installations, performances, audio works, research-based practices, and speculative narratives that engage with ecological traces, artificial intelligence, storytelling, perception, and material archives. Across the historic spaces of the former Kassenhalle, the works resonate with one another and invite visitors to experience memory not as something fixed, but as something continuously produced through interaction and transformation.
