About - Noor Stenfert Kroese

Senior Lecturer

Noor Stenfert Kroese is a media artist whose artistic practice is closely connected to her doctoral research at the Creative Robotics Lab in Linz. Her work focuses on sensor-driven methods and data storytelling through living systems, fungi-inspired biocomputing, and (non-)human interaction with industrial robotics, exploring how meaningful forms of interaction can emerge across biological and technological systems. She has a background in performance art, scenography, and mycology.

In her teaching, she combines conceptual reflection with hands-on (technical) support, guiding students in the development of their own Art & Science practice through dialogue, peer exchange, and individual mentoring. With first-year students, she develops the annual Art & Science exhibition in her course Collaborative Exhibition Making. Across the programme, her courses engage students with the Art & Science field in an (inter)national context through workshops, excursions, guest lectures, and encounters with practitioners and institutions.
