About - Laura Chalabi
Laura Chalabi (1998, Vienna) is a multidisciplinary artist, mathematician, and human rights activist. Her background in mathematics,
particularly her fascination with the abstract elegance and logical rigour of algebra, profoundly shapes her perspective on
the world.
Alongside her analytical pursuits, Laura is a passionate storyteller, deeply engaged with the complexities of human experience. She is particularly interested in cultural identity, post-migrant perspectives and (post-)colonialism. Her diverse body of work spans short stories and prose, interactive digital installations, and sculptural pieces. Recently, she has been especially drawn to the expressive and tactile potential of synthetic materials, textiles and latex.
