Attempt to reconcile the Danube with its habitats

On the basis of historical and new maps I am trying to show, how the Danube in Vienna has changed through time.

Old habitats have disappeared and new ones have been formed.

Is it possible to bring back the old river?

Can this be reconciled with the existing architecture and habitats?
