Direct Action

Markovic, acting as a staff member overseeing the positioning of the flags in front of CERN, his intention was to move all flags onto one half of the field in front of CERN but only managed to move one the German Flag. This action occurred simultaneously to the Berlin terrorist attack in 2016. The following day, all other flags were moved in same way by CERN authority therefore Markovic has influenced this decision behind its administration. But by the third day, security returned the flags to their initial position, as if nothing had happened. The work brings to light an existing hierarchy between countries involved in CERN, representing power relations on a global scale. Markovic considers this work to be a form of direct action and anarchistic statement.
