In conflict, but mandatorily in symbiosis with intelligent systems

How does a world develop in which people live in a kind of symbiosis
with algorithms and AI systems? Will the dictum “upgrade yourself”
mean the end of homo sapiens in view of bio-genetic engineering
possibilities? Why do we like to be scaled, watched and controlled?
