Introduction to taxidermy

Helmut Dier is the lead pathologist at FIWI and an expert taxidermist previously working for the Natural History Museum in Vienna. He has trained nearly all taxidermists. Taking advantage of his experience in the field, I asked whether he would personally introduce and train me to better understand the practice and motivation behind profession. My first taxidermy was on a Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) Helmut hunted and prepared.
