2012, Installation, Performance — shown in EURATOM.
“Phoenix” was a performance held on 21 July 2012 in Grau Kllktv Gallery in Brno. The audience was invited to watch the burning of a tower created of matches and a paper-made phoenix. In the beginning, people observed from a safe distance but slowly came closer to find their faces in a mirror among the remaining ashes. In this performance the artist tried to raise questions about the positions we take on political situations: being the reborn Phoenix arising from the ashes of its predecessor or standing behind, getting buried in the ashes.
