Escalona’s three works presented in the exhibition stem from conversations with medical physicists developing eye cancer treatment solutions. Connected by the lines and traces made by a human, a beam of accelerated particles, and a caterpillar, the artistic works are also linked together in their differing approaches to animation—a technique originally invented by scientists captivated by the persistence of vision.
