"HYPER-SPINAL RETROGRADE" is a mixed-media video installation exploring the boundary between the physical and digital realms. This immersive media art piece uses contemporary dance to experiment with how bodies interact with technology. The piece questions how technology changes the way bodies connect, and how body modification comes to affect this. Combining body movements, texture, objects, sonic forms, animation, and real-time audio-visuals, the project aims to create a sensorial world that exists in contrast to binary encounters, definitions, and experiences. Sensors, cameras, displays, and the skin act as an interface in a fluid world. In a regime of perception and experience, what kind of bodies will emerge in the future?
