About - Theresa Hajek
Theresa Hajek is a Vienna-based multimedia artist, who deals with the scalability of things. Starting with a simple molecule
up to complex global systems. Her focus is to transform scientific knowledge into artistic works.
Previously, she studied Molecular Biosciences at Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. In 2022, Theresa finished her Bachelor's degree "Cross-Disciplinary Strategies. Applied Studies in Art, Science, Philosophy, and Global Challenges," at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. During her studies, she did an exchange semester at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (NL) at the Interfaculty ArtScience.
Her work is concerned with new working and communication strategies to reformulate knowledge beyond individual disciplines. The aim is to provide insight into global and political realities by using different active practices in the scientific and artistic fields. A central element here is to create a momentum of tension and release that opens up a space of experience.
