In-tense is based on the concept and practice of Deep Listening & Sonic Meditations, developed by the American composer,  Pauline Oliveros. Sonic Medications focus on training awareness, tuning into the environment and a practice of radical attentiveness. I first encountered this concept during a Sounds Queer workshop in 2020, hosted by Tony Renaissance in Vienna.

In acoustics, feedback is commonly perceived as a “noisy” signal that blocks a message from being sent, an overwhelming element of our increasing digital lives that needs to be repressed. I want to break that stigma by letting the noise breathe, revealing not only its meditative capacities, but also how it requires agencies, temporalities, and hybrid structures. The sonic meditations sessions were organised at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the participants were the students from the Art & Science department.
