Struggle of Measurement is about the paradox of understanding the essence of light. Two predominant models—wave and particle—try
to describe the behaviour of light, yet neither singularly encapsulates its enigmatic nature. Depending on the situation,
one model is considered, but a unified model inheriting every aspect of light is far away.
Moreover, light serves as both subject and object of measurement, blurring the boundaries between observer and observed. The artist’s approach is an intuitive grasp of light’s behaviour. She believes that through a process of engagement with the world, we sometimes understand the nature of things without needing words.
The interactive video installation should dynamically mirror light’s behaviour. As viewers engage with the installation—moving closer, stepping back, observing from various angles—and experience firsthand the nature of light by playing around with it. It becomes evident that light transcends mere waves or particles: It embodies energy, information, and fluidity, shaped profoundly by its interactions with its environment.
