BOKU - Mini SEM Workshop
Excursions and Workshop in Martin Reinhart's Class Perspectives in Art & Science
For a limited group of A&S students (including guest student from BOKU, Daniela Lehner), Leon Ploszczanski from BOKU’s Institute
of Physics and Material Sciences was offering a hands-on Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) workshop for dry samples, no larger
than one square centimetre. Under ideal conditions, samples can be viewed at up to 30,000x magnification. See the stunning
results of these scans in the gallery.
In classes the weeks before, all students went on special tours through BOKU (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences,
Vienna) with a focus on its historical development, guided by the head of BOKU’s library, Dipl.-Ing. Peter Wiltsche.
BOKU is Austria’s leading institution for sustainability-related research and education, bringing together expertise from
natural sciences, engineering, and social sciences.
