About - Guadalupe Aldrete

Guadalupe Aldrete is a multidisciplinary artist mainly active in the field of performance art and installation. After several years of training at the painting academy of the Instituto Cultural Cabañas (Guadalajara, MX), and due to her interest in sciences, she studied Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the ECRO (Guadalajara, MX) and later on Restoration of Stone and Ceramic Objects at the HAWK (Hildesheim, DE). In 2007 she began her training in theater improvisation and in 2009 where she discovered performance art.  She participated in several performance workshops with internationally recognized artists (e.g. Jürgen Fritz, He Chenyao, BBB Johannes Deimling, Antoni Karwowski, I. Keiner, Zierle & Carter, Zhou Bin, W. Costa, Peter Kozek). From 2016 to 2018 she studied the master program "Art & Science" at the University of Applied Arts Wien, where she finally could fulfill her interest in science for the creation of art, not only for its conservation.

Her work has been presented internationally in solo and in collaboration projects. She has participated in festivals such as "LA/LA" (US), "UP ON" (CN), "Mothers' Tongue" (FI), "CREATURE Live Art" (LT), "Arizona Between Nosotros" (US), Crossover (DE), "Dugtungan" (PH), "Blauverschiebung" (DE), "Performing Sciences" (DE) and "Crossover" (DE), among many others.
